Hawthorn Craft Market
As White Hat has observed elsewhere in these pages,
names change but many things remain the same. The White Hawthorn Craft
Market used to be found at the Hawthorn Town Hall. Now the
Hawthorn Makers Market can be found at the Hawthorn Arts Centre - basically
the same market at the same venue but both refreshed to move with the times.
The important thing is that this market, one of the oldest of its type in
Melbourne, is still operated by the Rotary Club which means that virtually
all dollars raised through (volunteer) management of the Market and any
donations collected on market days are directed to the charitable activities
of the Rotary Club and programs in the community. Over 70 stalls can be
browsed in this wonderful heritage building.
