National Rhododendron Garden
At The National Rhododendron Gardens you will find brilliantly coloured blooms of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias, cherries and daffodils. Seasonal changes ensure the gardens are a delight all year around. Kalorama Chestnut Festival

Held annually by the Mt Dandenong Preschool on the Kalorama Reserve in the Dandenong Ranges. Market stalls, fair ground rides, fairy floss, hot food and, of course, roasted chestnuts. There will be a diverse range of stalls showcasing locally made handcrafts and produce. Children can enjoy the fun rides and adventure play space. Enjoy coffee, tea and chai as well as artisan beer (including chestnut beer!) and mulled wine.

Flowerdale Market

With both Indoor& outdoor stalls, White Hat suggests this market makes for a relaxed visit on a country drive. You might want to refresh yourself at the sausage sizzle or with a Devonshire tea. At the market you will find food, gifts, plants, trash and treasure and whatever else the locals decide to sell. (Note: It is unclear whether the market operates in January, so check with the organisers before making a special trip.)
