Warum? - German Choral Music of Contemplation

Choristry's first two concerts of 2019 are a celebration of German choral music, ranging from simple folk settings and profound sacred masterworks through to the era of early 20th Century cabaret.  

​Programme highlights include Brahms' Warum ist das Licht gegeben dem Mühseligen, J. S. Bach's glorious motet Der Geist hilft unsrer Schwachheit auf, Hugo Distler's beautiful setting of Es ist ein Ros entsprungen, Arvo Pärt's sublime Sieben Magnificat Antiphonen and songs from Kurt Weill's Die Dreigroschenoper (Threepenny Opera). 

Choristry is directed by Calvin Bowman

Stonnington Jazz Festival - Big Jazz Sing
Stonnington Jazz Festival

Everyone is invited to the Big Jazz Sing. Led by vocalist Jolene Moran and Vox Chops participants will learn a song jazz-choir style. No prior singing experience needed.

Feel inspired to start your own journey and get involved. Be part of the action and join in the festival.  This is one of the many workshops, talks, art sessions and family friendly activities available for you to join in the festival.
