Central Victoria

Central Victoria

Overview

This area, when considered through its main highways, falls roughly into the shape of a “Y”. The base of the Y is formed by the Hume Highway from Melbourne to Wallan. The right branch of the Y continues up the Hume Highway to Seymour and then follows the Goulburn Valley Highway and Goulburn River up to the Murray ain the Cobram region. The left branch of the Y follows the Northern Highway, joining up with the Campaspe River and meeting the Murray at Echuca.

We have divided this region into three areas: See also:

South Central Victoria

This area is within easy reach of Melbourne and contains numbers of historic towns such as Kilmore & Tallarook.
